How to take care of Intellectual Property on Internet

For the matter Intellectual Property on the net we must the same thoughts as for the privacy issue. If you spread one of your thoughts or idea on the net in an open public place like Face book you must be aware that everybody can take it on and use it. You must also be careful with whom you share your ideas and thinking with in closed net societies because if you are not sure about whom stand behind a net profile the thing you write can be misused. Therefore never bring on intellectual ideas you are afraid of can be misused by anyone on net places that are open for people that you do not know or trust. Otherwise you can be badly harmed about what happened with your thoughts and intellectual ideas.

If you have an idea that you want to make business of you can secure by taking patent on it. Then it will be illegal for others to use your idea unless they have an agreement with you for using it. By such an agreement you will have the possibility to be paid a fee from those whom use your idea.

What do you do when publish your ideas to prevent them of being missuses by others? Do you have any ideas that you think you could sell to others?

Privacy in the Information System

Information privacy in internet is very important and complicated subject. Important because every user of the net must be aware of how different kinds of communication channels function on the net.

People must know when communicate in open channels neither in closed area with only one or few persons which you know whom are. If you communicate in open areas like you spread information on your wall on Facebook you must consider that this can be spread worldwide in a big tempo and too many recovers.

Another important issue to remember is that information you only share with known people in restricted manners at the internet can be attacked by hackers. In general I will say that be very careful by how you use the internet for communication when you have information that for some reason are not common. Then you must use secured communication programs for sending the information or if necessary take advice and help of professionals of this matter.

Strictly I mean we should discus if the internet today are safe enough to send all kinds and information and are the discipline of organizations and person using internet good enough in the issue of confidality?

I mean that every information you put out on public places on the net you must consider as open for everyone even though it is on an area with restricted access.

My children and ICT.

I will write about how ICT affects the daily life of my children in social and cultural ways.

If we look into cultural aspect using ICT for instance facebook give the children possibility to learn people and nations to know than any other technology. They are also able to get to know the culture like music, language and lifestyle of other people and countries much better then was normal for just ten years ago.

A problem for the culture forced by the ICT is that old culture channels can disappear because the youth is not interested in it. This can be a challenge both for old techniques and also for local culture events because the children today think these are not exciting enough compare with more “exotic” activities in the ICT.

The ICT have big effects on the social life of my children. It give them many possibilities to communicate with other people in a very directly and fast manner. It makes them much more multi social then I was when I grew up. But we need to look after with whom they communicate with because in the social media there are unfortuneally a lot of unserious people. This people try to get in contact with children and in different ways abuse the child. Another problem with the ICT and the children is that they get so hacked up in using the computer so they sit all day long using the pc. I have therefore made house rules which regulate how much time the can use the computer daily.

I would like to hear your opinion about how much time you think a child shall be using the computer on social medias daily.


My experience is that it is necessary to have limited time for the daily use of internet by my children. On weekdays they can use the net maximum two hours and in weekends four hours
